Won't Someone Think of the Children?!?

Well I certainly hope that our neighbors have a good sense of humor. And I hope that they don't walk outside, throw thier fists in the air, and curse the poor housing market for both making it imposible for them to sell thier house and for making the prices low enough that they have US as neighbors. Cause I do like them, I really do. Our neighbors are great. But they might not like to see this:

"What is that by the mailbox?" they ask.

Oh, just some heads on stakes.

"What is that thing on the garage?"

Oh, just the floating undead.

Have that with your morning coffee, my sweet neighbor.

"Are those tombstones?"

Why yes! Moss covered tombstones as a matter of fact.

"Well I guess that is okay. But. . what is that?"

Ummm. . .another tombstone.

"No. The thing in your cherry tree."

Ah, yes. That would be a vampire bat with red eyes. Nice, eh?

"Umm. . .yeah. . .I am not sure this is okay with the Homeowners Association."

"Whoa. Yeah, that is definately a little too suggestive."

What? You got a problem with Blue Pumpkins?

Ah, I love Halloween. It is truely my favorite time of year. And this Halloween is soooo extra special for so many reasons. Especially since we finally have a house to decorate and we can sit out for the trick-or-treaters. I have wanted to do this since I was a little kid. This was something we could not do in the neighborhood I grew up in. Not a good idea to go trick-or-treating on a busy section of Rt. 40 after dark. I really hope no one here has a problem with it. Even if they do, I don't think it would stop me from doing the same thing next year!

Patton Oswalt's bit about the suburbs and Halloween. Suffice it to say, you're not that out of the ordinary.
